Ronny Engelen is always looking for new images that in one way or another appeal to him. This can be pictures of city landscapes, village sceneries, specific birds or animals, farmhouses, cattle, traffic, etc. His drawings bring these images together in a new kind of reality. At the same time Engelen adds a delightful sense of estrangement by creating small distortions and playing with the dynamic between the images. The execution, mainly in colored pencil, creates a warm and rich unity with a strong intensity.
